The Yawning Portal [Project Forgotten Realms] Minecraft Server IP

The Yawning Portal is a server development team that aims to create immersive roleplay systems that mimic but reimagine traditional ones used in tabletop RPGs (TTRPGs). We were created in 2021 during the COVID pandemic as a way to continue to play Dungeons and Dragons with friends. While there are plenty of online methods to play D&D, we found that Minecraft was a relatively unexplored medium that allowed us to truly immersive ourselves in the worlds we created.

Project Forgotten Realms


Is our first large project that aims to recreate the entire Forgotten Realms world from many popular Dungeons and Dragons campaigns on a 1:1 scale. Currently, we have started on Waterdeep. Upon completion of Waterdeep, players and up to 6 of their friends will be able to experience a fully automated Dungeons and Dragons campaign within the world of Minecraft.


Waterdeep is named for its outstanding natural deepwater harbor, and the city that grew up at this site has become the commercial crossroads of the northern Realms. The population of the city itself is approximately 130,000, but more than one million people make their home within Waterdeep's territory.
